Save the Date: Anuga 2025

From 4th to 8th October 2025, we will be exhibiting at Anuga in Cologne – the world’s leading trade fair for food and beverages.

Visit us in Hall 4.2, Stand A028, and find out more about our reliable logistics and transport solutions – we look forward to see you in Cologne!

Transport more, impact less – our answer to sustainable logistics

Our new Thermotraffic trailers offer more than just extra space – they deliver real benefits for both the environment and efficiency. With an additional 1.2 meters of loading length, up to three more pallets can be transported per trip. That means fewer journeys, reduced CO₂ emissions, and a more sustainable use of resources. Together, we’re driving change – for a greener future on our roads.

We’re celebrating 40 years of thermotraffic!

How time flies: In 2024, Thermotraffic will be 40 years old.

In November 1983 Heinrich Peter Loos founded Thermotraffic GmbH with the first order being successfully fulfilled on 1 February 1984.

At that time our company was still based in Halle/Westfalen. More branches followed in Oldenburg (now Bremerhaven), Gelsenkirchen and Hamburg. In 1987, Thermotraffic entered the Dutch market with the establishment of Thermotraffic Holland B.V. Two years later, Heinrich Peter Loos sold his shares to the Japanese Nichirei Corporation in Tokyo. He remained CEO of all Thermotraffic companies in Europe. In 2009, the head office was moved to Versmold and the founder handed over the management of the company to Falko Thomas.

Today, we are a company with 16 sites across Europe—a growth that we can be proud of.

Thermotraffic at anuga

Sustainability was the focus at this year’s Anuga in Cologne. As always, the international food fair represents a great opportunity for us at Thermotraffic to build on existing contacts and make some new ones.

This year’s theme was „Sustainable growth – working with industry to build a sustainable future for food“. It also covered solutions for greener and more efficient supply chains, as well as expertise in the logistics industry.

Thermotraffic has participated in Anuga almost every year since 2015. Our sister companies Eurofrigo, Godfroy and TT Holland were also present in 2023.

CJD secondary school career pathway

The Year 10 students got to try out some hands-on activities at the info stands from different companies, which gave them a good idea of the skilled occupations available. Thermotraffic had also put something together.

In the areas of haulage or IT technology, the students to plan a route from Hamburg to Versmold with different unloading points along the way or assign different cable connectors—tasks set by our management assistant Jessica Obst and our trainee Aleyna Ücüncü.

The Career Pathway is a great way for young people to dip their toes in the water and make their first professional contacts. For us as a company, it’s represents a great chance to show the students what we’re all about as a potential training company.

Football shirts for the scp women’s football team

Thermotraffic has once again donated eight football shirts to the SC Peckeloh women’s team this year. The players from the Versmold club have been wearing the black shirts with the golden Thermotraffic logo on them for over a year now.

We gave the SCP footballers their first set of shirts in August 2022. They needed the extra shirts because some new players had joined the team. The young women play in the district league.

New trainees starting out

On 1 August, nine young adults from all over Germany started their training at Thermotraffic, and are now embarking on their careers at our six training locations.

We’re training eight young men and women to become management assistants for transport and logistics services, and we’re also training one to become an IT systems electronics engineer.

To find suitable trainees, we took part in the Apprentice Speed Dating event in Gütersloh on 4 May 2023. The young people were particularly interested in the training syllabus and the benefits Thermotraffic can offer. We also created a new flyer to advertise for trainees.

Team thermotraffic at the versmold city cycling challenge

Team Thermotraffic cycled 4,447 kilometres and came ninth in the Versmold City Cycling Challenge—just behind the LiVe running club and ahead of the Versmold-Dobczyce Friendship Association.

The individual cyclist’s results were even better: each of our 17 cyclists rode 262 kilometres, putting us in seventh place overall. However, with 311 cyclists in total, we only managed tenth place.

The main thing is that we did something positive for ourselves and for the environment. We’ll definitely be taking part in the City Cycling Challenge again next year.

Thermotraffic family celebrates big summer party

We invited everyone and indeed everyone turned up: employees from the entire Thermotraffic family from across Europe gathered to celebrate at Hotel Klosterpforte in Harsewinkel-Marienfeld.

It was the first major celebration since the Christmas party of 2019. After such a long time, it was clear that the 200 or so colleagues from all over Europe had a lot to talk about—which worked pretty well in English.

The afternoon football match not only provided some much-needed exercise for some of the staff, but was also great entertainment for the spectators. In the evening there was a barbecue. The party went on until late the atmosphere was so good!

School rally for career orientation

Maths, German and English weren’t on the timetable this time for the Year 9 students at Versmold Grammar School. Instead, the 13-14 year olds stopped off at various companies during a rally. And Thermotraffic was one of the stops.

Once we’d given the students the overview of our company, we wanted to see if they’d been paying attention.

For the haulage department, they had to plan a route from Hamburg to Versmold with several stops along the way for unloading. For IT, they had to identify different cable connectors. They were given 30 minutes to present their solutions. Our assessment: they all passed.
