Thermotraffic modernizes its fleet
Versmold – July 24th, 2014 – Thermotraffic, international logistics company for temperature-controlled transports, modernizes its entire fleet. Until the end of 2015, 50 tractors are planned to be replaced by trucks which correspond to the emission standard Euro 6. Thermotraffic’s management intends to invest 4.5 million Euros for the modernization and expects a better environmental sustainability as well as a higher efficiency by the use of Euro 6 technology.
The modern Euro 6 technology reduces the CO2 emissions. Falko Thomas, manager of Thermotraffic GmbH, expects to compensate the higher acquisition costs with the lower fuel consumption as well as lower insurance conditions and toll fees.
Besides sustainability and efficiency, higher safety requirements for accident prevention are decisive for the modernization of the fleet. All trucks are going to be equipped with electronic stability control, Xenon headlights and advanced driver assistance systems. These include lane and emergency brake assistants and automatic velocity and headway control. Telematics monitor the exhaust emissions. All drivers will be trained on the new vehicles and new safety regulations.
The first new tractors are already on the road for Thermotraffic.
